Welcome to Moonlake’s Studio.

This blog is the gaming and publishing counterpart to my fiction blog and will mainly focus on my efforts to design, playtest and publish tabletop roleplaying games.

Unlike many gamers, I actually started out as a writer. In 2009, I joined Strolen’s Citadel, an online gaming community that introduced me to worldbuilding and scenario design for tabletop roleplaying games. At the time, I was primarily interested in worldbuilding and what I now think of as metafiction. Over the years, participation in that community gradually turned me into a gamer, and more recently a dedicated GM and publisher.

I am currently working to publish my first product line A.R.C.H., an investigative setting centred around timeline anomalies and historical intervention, but it is only the first of several settings I hope to publish in the years ahead.

Current Status (July 2026)

Folding Screen Publishing is currently in pre-launch.

The first public release will be A.R.C.H. — Core Operations, a free introduction to the setting.

Future releases will be announced in the Releases section and added to the Product Catalogue as they become available.

What You’ll Find Here

Development Workshop

Development Workshop contains design diaries, development notes and behind-the-scenes looks at the projects currently in progress.

GM Toolkit

The GM Toolkit focuses on investigative scenario design, mystery construction, clue design and other lessons learnt from running and preparing games.

Playtest Notes

Playtest Notes contains observations, successes, failures and unexpected discoveries from ongoing playtesting. Some of these may eventually find their way into published products while others are simply lessons learnt along the way.

Setting Files

Setting Files explores the worlds, factions, organisations and ideas behind my various settings. Some posts will focus on mystery-oriented games while others will focus on fantasy projects currently under development.

From time to time, I also expect to blog about independent publishing, project management and the realities of turning game ideas into finished products.

Whether you are a GM, player, designer, worldbuilder or simply curious about the creative process behind tabletop roleplaying games, I hope you find something useful here.

Thanks for dropping by.
